When writing articles and submitting to the popular article directories, it is clear that many different strategies exist for getting results. In particular I want to focus on the topic of article keyword research, which is the process of loading your articles and titles with keywords. Many people say that this is not important, and I have heard others say that it is. So what is the verdict?
Is research important? Well yes and no. Before you click off of this article allow me to explain what I mean. You should in fact have a good keyword or two in the title of your article as well as 3-5 times in the article body itself. What I mean by the yes and no part is that not all great keywords show up in the research tools.
I know for a fact that some of these keyword tools can be quite off point at times. For instance I used the free keyword tool at Wordtracker and it told me that one keyword received 800 searches per day. On the other hand, the Google AdWords keyword tool reported a search volume of around 50. My guess is the actual number was somewhere in the middle.
The best for of article keyword research is to think what people would type in the search engines to look for something. Often times your human intuition can done much better than any keyword research tool.
So is keyword research important for writing articles? I would say yes it is, but do not rely just on the popular keyword research tools to get the titles of your articles.
