VoIP works by digitalizing the voice. It digitalizes the voice and sends it in packets to the destinations where the digitalized voice is again reconverted to the normal voice. The digital form of voice can be compressed if necessary, routed and converted to other formats. These digital signals are superior because they can tolerate noise. VoIP sends the packets of digital data through networks using TCP/IP protocol.
