Home Based Internet Marketing Businesses Use YouTube For Success

Home based internet marketing businesses have lots of tools to use for success-one of the hottest right now is YouTube and video marketing. If you want to take advantage of this trend, here are some very important first steps to follow to ensure your video marketing is a success.

The first step is to pick your niche…the problem you are going to solve. If you have an area that you are passionate about, that you are an expert in, then that is a great place to start. If you don’t think you are an expert at anything, then pick something that you want to learn about.

Next you want to find some great keywords in that niche, so you start off using a keyword research tool. There are lots of them out there. What you are looking for are keywords that are getting lots of searches. Look for keywords that are being searched often, especially in Google…because Google owns YouTube.

Write down a bunch of keywords and note the average searches per month for each search.

Then when you find some keywords that are searched on a lot you can create your video around those keywords. Don’t just pick one keyword… have several keywords that you can use in your videos…that your videos can revolve around.

When you are picking keywords you want to select some that are less competitive, then you can work your way up to more competitive terms. This may seem counter-intuitive, but you don’t want to create your first videos based on the most popular, the most searched on keywords. The reason is that there will be too many other people who are focusing on that term and your video won’t get found. So find something that is maybe 25,000 hits a month…then as your following on YouTube grows you can start using more searched on terms.

In addition to searching on Google, you can also search specifically on YouTube for terms…since that is a narrowed field and not everyone optimizes their videos, you might find a keyword that has a large number of hits in Google overall but is okay when you isolate it on YouTube. So definitely look both places.

Once you find some great keywords, then you want to find the long tailed keywords that relate to that. Then when you create your video you work those longer phrases into the title.

Use keywords in your title, description and tags. This is crucial because you can’t really have keywords in your video…the spiders don’t “read” video…the first place Google will look is your title, and the first thing people see when searching on YouTube is your title. Think of the title like a headline…the job of the title is to make people want to open the video. So your title should contain keywords, but it also needs to be interesting and draw them in!

You will also be sprinkling your keywords throughout your description-even 3 to 6 times. You should have a pretty long description using your long tail keywords. Finally, use your shorter keywords in your tags.

If you follow these critical steps then you can be among the home based internet marketing businesses that are experiencing great success using video marketing on YouTube.
